“And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
“And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years.
“And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.”
Since the beginning of time satan has seduced the minds and souls of the human race by trying to legitimize sin. His offering of a seemingly plausible excuse was in actuality nothing more than a blatant lie to the human mind that in turn damned the soul. His devices include the reclassification and renaming of sin, until humanity swallows that evil is good, and abnormal is normal. Although his twisted craft started in the beginning with the false representation of turning the forbidden fruit into pleasing produce, the end result is still spiritually fatal today.
When God spoke to Adam and Eve saying, “Do not partake,” the message was clear. When God speaks to humanity today saying not to partake of homosexuality, the message is still clear. No matter how satan tries to muddy the water by wrapping this issue in “good words and fair speeches,” its endorsement is wrong and its end will prove deadly (Jm. 1:15).
Nevertheless, just as satan had an accomplice in Eve, who helped in the deception and downfall of Adam, so he has many co-conspirators in this age, advancing a tolerance and acceptance of homosexuality, saying, “ye shall not surely die.” Those delivering these false messages, sad to say, include not only individuals in the world, but also the so-called “church” that is “of the world” (I Jn. 2:15–17). Their tolerant, non-prohibitive mood causes them to wink at sin and bless the sinner. Isaiah prophesied correctly when he said that they would “justify the wicked” even in their sinful lifestyle: “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! … Which justify the wicked … Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness … because they have cast away the law of the Lord of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.” Isa. 5:20, 21, 23, 24.
What do these messengers say? and what does God say? It is God’s Word that matters.
When statements are made that indicate that the homosexual orientation may be immutable to change, we must ask the question, “Has the blood lost its power?”
When questions are asked indicating that homosexuality may be an unavoidable choice ordained by genetics, the rhetorical question leaps forward—Would our holy God who inspired the holy Bible, predestinate by virtue of genetics, that (1) A person be forced to be gay, when God has already condemned such, (2) If one is gay that the genetics are stronger than Christ’s cleansing blood, (3) That genetics causes God’s Word to be fallible by the fact that this type of person would not have to be in compliance to the infallible Word of God, (4) That our holy Father, by direct verdict, has caused the homosexual to be assigned to the abode of the damned, due to the fact that genetics forces them to do something that is in direct conflict with God’s standard. All such scenarios place God and His Word in a position that is not only foolish but false.
Foolishness further abounds in one writer’s statement in a religious periodical when she said that she couldn’t imagine that God would exclude people with homosexual orientations from His kingdom. My reply to such is that this writer needs to stop imagining and start finding out what the Word of God really says.
Do you find it a coincidence that people who have vain imaginations, according to Romans 1:21–28, are the same people that God gives up to vile affections? A Greek scholar, Boyce Blackwelder, in his book “Toward Understanding Romans” translated in this fashion, “For this reason God abandoned them to passions of dishonour. Actually even their women changed the natural function of sex into that which is contrary to nature. Indeed in like manner also the males, having disregarded the natural function of females, were inflamed with lust for each other; males engaging in shameful practices with males … and inasmuch as they decided not to give proper acknowledgement to God, He gave them over to a mind insensible to reproof, to detestable practices. They reached a state in which they were filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness.”
By comparing the principal that God espouses in these verses against the wicked and vain imaginations that help to cause sexual impurity, one should readily throw out all of man’s manifestos that approve this wickedness. Then, without hesitation or reservation, believe the gospel truth and take a solid stand against all abominations.
This kind of stand should be the rule and not the exception! In the evening time Reformation the brethren stood against sexual impurity. D.O. Teasley in his 1905 book entitled “Private Lectures to Men and Boys,” said that “God requires a man to be sexually pure.” Both in the Old Testament (Lev. 18:22; 20:13) and the New (Rom. 1:25–28), the brethren of old decried homosexuality as sin, an abomination in the sight of God, yet some in these last days think if we confer with the older brethren that we have passed from the sublime to the ridiculous.
We stand firmly against this evil, as did the inspired writers of old. One must assume that those who currently hold that the sin of homosexuality is now somehow not so sinful, are, by the same token saying that the holy men of old, who penned the Bible, were wide of the mark, and that the Word of God is faulty, while God Himself is permissive of the gay lifestyle. Nothing could be further from the truth. Why? God will never give His nod of assent to any sin, including this one. To do so He would have to go directly against His Word while becoming a party to perverseness.
While some wallow in this lifestyle and proclaim an experience with God, as if God had spoken, saying, “I created you in My image, I love you like you are and I will use you like you are!” we should all remember that God never set His seal of approval on this matter that Satan is trying to promote. To imagine that God ever will is a deluded dream.
If you are associating with a religious body that is opening their doors (even a crack) to the sin of homosexuality, then we advise you to separate yourselves from the unclean thing, “that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues” (Rev. 18:4). It is indeed fallen. And woe be to those who allow it in their ministry! What an inexcusable abomination!
To those who are caught in this evil and binding snare, we encourage you to elevate God and His Word to their rightful position. Jesus is still able to save “to the uttermost those that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.” The very purpose of Christ coming was to set the captives free. It matters not what the sin is—lying, stealing, fornication, adultery, homosexuality, or any other sin—the blood of Jesus can cleanse the hurting, repentant soul!
There is a sure deliverance for those who are involved in the outward act of this sin, and also for those struggling with inward thoughts and desires of a homosexual orientation. Whom the Son sets free, is free indeed.
Realizing that God can and will forgive and deliver, remember that God’s willingness to forgive is just as abundant as His hatred for this sin. We, like God, extend open arms and helping hands for those who are truly desiring deliverance. We would be more than happy to hear from you and to help you in your search for the forgiveness and deliverance that Christ now offers.
