Bro. Ray Tinsman preached the first message of this week of meeting, a message entitled Unity of God’s People
We are “one people” yet we are a diverse people. That fact separates us from other religious groups. We don’t appreciate the idea of everyone being alike. We appreciate having a need for a language interpreters during our meetings.
Our unity comes from an experience of full salvation. It is impossible to be one when you have the carnal nature on board. When the carnal man is dead, you cannot help but be at one with the people of God.
John 10:16 “And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.”
The Lord was referring to the Gentiles, He said, “them also I must bring.”
In Acts 10, Peter had a vision of the sheet being let down from heaven with all manner of beasts and creeping things inside. We all were in that sheet!
John 17:20 “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word.” We are the “them…which shall believe!”
I John 3:14 “We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.”
Acts 2:41-42. “…they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine…”
The apostles’ doctrine was the basis of unity and fellowship in the early morning church. Likewise, the reason the saints are in unity with each other today is because the ministry is in unity with one other and the saints fellowship everyone that the ministry fellowships.
Galatians 6:10. “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”
