Worldliness – A Defence of the Pioneer Brethren

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.” Rom. 12:2.
“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we [...]

Wine and the Bible

Did Jesus turn water into intoxicating wine? Did He serve alcoholic wine at the last supper? What does the evidence tell us? The Bible speaks plainly on this subject. Historical records regarding the preparation, preservation and use of wine are also clear.
Consider this report (1820) by William Patton. The term “alcoholic” is not used. He [...]

The Voice of the Church On Dress

Today’s professing Christians are walking but a step behind the world, concerned about being too “different” or standing out too much. Plainly they are still walking “according to the course [direction] of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air,” albeit a few steps behind. Unless this worldly course or path [...]

The Sin of Ecumenicalism

This poor world hardly knows what the real gospel is anymore. I unhesitatingly lay the blame for this at the door of the modern religious world. Weak, shallow, and effeminate in its fight against wrong, false religion has done more to enlarge hell than alcohol or drugs has ever done. Amen.
Look around you. How did [...]

The Old Cross and the New

By A. W. Tozer
All unannounced and mostly undetected, there has come in modern times a new cross into popular evangelical circles. It is like the old cross, but different. The likenesses are superficial; the differences, fundamental.
From this new cross has sprung a new philosophy of the Christian life, and from that new philosophy has come [...]

The Joking Preacher

If it were not for the possibility of involving me in condemnation by remaining silent, I would refrain from writing on this subject; but since every individual is held responsible before God for the degree of light he has received, I am duty bound to perform this cheerless task of raising my voice against the [...]

Slanguage

Christians are to be guided by Bible admonitions, yet many are guilty of the habitual use of expressions the dictionary terms as minced oaths. These are taken from the New Century dictionary. “Gosh, golly” are softened and euphemistic forms for God. “Gee” is a minced form for Jesus. “Heck” stands for hell. “Duce, dickens” are [...]

Menace of Religious Movies

When God gave to Moses the blueprint of the tabernacle He was careful to include every detail. Then, lest Moses should get the notion that he could improve on the original plan, God warned him solemnly, “And look that thou make them after their pattern, which was shown thee in the mount.” God, not Moses, [...]

Plain, Modest Dress

Many try to claim that what one wears doesn’t matter, it’s what is in the heart. The fact of the matter is that the issues of life flow out from the heart. If one is proud, worldly and immodest in their spirit, be sure it will be expressed in their manner of dress. One’s clothing [...]

In Defence of Paul and His Gospel

The devil has promoted a deadly lie and multitudes have swallowed it with the help of today’s false prophets.
The apostle Paul’s Christian experience has been grossly misrepresented by misapplication of his writings in Romans chapter 7. Most Protestants can probably quote these scriptures, for to them they tenaciously cling in an attempt to defend their [...]

Remove Not the Ancient Landmarks

By Ostis B. Wilson
In Deuteronomy 19:14 we read, “Thou shalt not remove thy neighbor’s landmark, which they of old time have set…” Again in Deut. 27:17 we read, “Cursed be he that removeth his neighbour’s landmark.” We read again in Job 24:2, “Some remove the landmarks; they violently take away flocks, and feed thereof.” Proverbs [...]

Do You Look Like A Christian?

By Jason Hargrave
“But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.” Act 28:22.
The early morning church was no stranger to persecutions and slanders. It has been the common lot of the followers of Jesus Christ to be spoken against.  “There [...]

A Friend of the World?

Why is it that so many professing Christians today are tip-toeing around the truth in an effort to ensure they do not offend the world? Since when does God’s enemy merit such solicitous concern? And how can it be that the Truth is treated with such dishonour and shame by those professing to embrace it! [...]

A Compromising Ministry

A divine call to the ministry of the gospel of Jesus Christ is the highest honor that could be conferred upon a human intelligence, and is fraught with grave responsibilities. The eternal interests of the millions of earth’s inhabitants depend upon the faithfulness of God’s ambassadors.

The compromising preacher is one who does not [...]

About

After many years of apostasy and compromise, God is again restoring His church in this end-time. This is a divine move of the Holy Ghost, as ordained by God and prophesied of in Revelation and other scriptures. God is again calling all of His true children out of every sect and schism back to the one fold, the precious church of God.
