Unity of God's People
The standard of God’s Word is that His people would be one, just as Christ prayed.
John 17:21
“That they all may be one; as thou Father art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us:
that the world may believe that thou has sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have
given them; that they may be one, even as we are one.”
Ephesians 4:4-6
“There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord,
one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is above all, and through all, and in you
all.”
The man-made sects and creeds we see today are not the church that Jesus built. God never
meant for His true people to be divided and to believe different doctrines, "for God is not the author of confusion..." I Corinthians 14:33. "Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divison among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment." I Corinthians 1:10.
In God’s true church, we have real unity and true divine love for the brethren–not just a “union”
as sectism has, where they agree to disagree, with their confusing mess of beliefs and standards.
To justify division among the people of God is to oppose the truth of the New Testament. Truly
unity is a mark of the church of God.
