“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”   2 Corinthians 5:10

A notice, a summons to a court case. A court case announced with a trumpet, prepared for by the annihilation of the elements, and presided over by the Judge of Heaven and Earth. All must appear. All must be judged. All must receive justice for the things done in the body.

The case of all time. The inquisition for the cry of blood (Psalm 9:12), from the days of righteous Abel through the consummate seventh trumpet dispensation. Over six thousand years of evidence—a great library of volumes, together with one great book, the eternal law of God that has through time been transposed on the conscience of men, now lying open as the supreme standard of right and wrong. Witnesses, defendents, and jurors present in billions. Every accusation, every testimony, every sentence announced before the vast amphitheater of humanity. Every judgment amened not only by the hosts of heaven, but by the righteous, and perhaps by even the condemned, so great the sense of Sovereign justice.

There is no contradiction now, no stiff knees, no philosophy or educated objections. This is no relative standard that truth is measured by. At once, all mankind knows, recognizes, and worships their Creator and Judge.

Gross crimes of blatant human depravity and hidden schemes of earthly principalities are revealed, judged, and condemned. The great serpentine plot laid open, and every worker of iniquity named. Stand, those who follow Cain in their murderous hate of righteousness and rebellion against God’s promise; stand, the numerous tribe of Korah, who reject government; stand, the Sanballats, who criticize heavenly engineering; stand, sons of Ahab, who oppress the children of God and man; stand, daughters of Jezebel, who love vanity; stand, those of Sodom, who pervert nature; stand, the humanists like Nebuchadnezzar; stand, Pharisees of all time, hypocrites refined; stand, the Judases, who betray their Master; stand, the Pilates, who question Truth and choose secular preference; stand, the rich, as Demas, their rusted money gone; Ananias and Sapphira, liars; Hymenaeus, Alexander and all other blasphemers; stand, idolaters, despisers, scoffers, adulterers. Thus, every word uttered in deceit, every character written by bloody fingers, every mite appropriated by fraud, every thought entertained in rebellion, selfishness, and hate, everything that is contrary to the nature and will of God is now declared and condemned.

But there is another book! There too stand righteous men; men who despise the gain of oppression (Isaiah 33:15); men who preach the gospel to the poor (Matthew 11:5), men who came out of great tribulation (Revelation 7:14); men who are not ashamed of the gospel (Romans 1:16); men who give water to the thirsty (Matthew 10:42); men of faith; strangers and pilgrims, having found the heavenly country; men persecuted, reviled, slandered, beaten (Hebrews 11); the poor in spirit, the meek, the pure in heart, the merciful, the peacemakers (Matthew 5); all those who love the cross, “who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life” (Romans 2:7). For every name read from the Book of Life, such great joy! This day it is more than the angels rejoicing! As each child of God stands eternally justified in the face of hosts of mockers and despisers, in the face of the wicked Accuser himself, the whole family, now only in heaven and not in earth, join in a great jubilant shout of approbation.

There is no time, no rush, no mistake. Every man judged, his works matched against the unchanging Holy Law. At the end, Satan, his angels, his servants, and his works are hurled into Gehenna, after which the righteous enter joys eternal.

And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:11–15.
